English WP needs to allow for the two spelling standards in the UK, plus the independent standards of Canada, and the standard of the US.
Scots does not need to emulate the confusion that exists in English.
English words as used in Scots should conform to a UK standard. (Cambridge or Oxford?)

Therefore, commonly occurring words found in English WP articles should move to a UK norm.
There may or may not be a difference between the UK English word and the Scots word.
