It is the auldest[3][4] an the fift maist populous ceety athin the Republic o Ireland. It is the aicht maist populous ceety on the island o Ireland. Waterford City and County Council is the local govrenment authority for the ceety. Waterford is kent for Waterford Crystal, a legacy o the ceety's umwhile gless makkin industry.
