Its traditional northren border is the River Avon, but the admeenistrative boondary haes crept soothwairds wi the creation an expansion o the Ceety o Bristol, an latterly the coonty o Avon an its successor unitary authorities tae the north.[1] Somerset's coonty toun, Taunton, is in the sooth.
