Marchigüe (Spaingie pronunciation: [marˈtʃiɣwe]), sometimes spelled Marchihue ([marˈtʃiwe]), is a Chilean toun an commune in the Cardenal Caro Province o Chile's sixt region o O'Higgins.

According tae the 2002 census o the National Statistics Institute, Marchigüe spans an aurie o 659.9 km2 (255 sq mi) an haes 6,904 inhabitants (3,549 men an 3,355 weemen). o these, 2,208 (32%) lived in urban auries an 4,696 (68%) in landwart auries. The population grew bi 11.2% (695 persons) atween the 1992 an 2002 censuses.[2]

As a commune, Marchigüe is a third-level admeenistrative diveesion o Chile administered bi a municipal cooncil, headed bi an alcalde who is directly electit every four years. The 2008-2012 alcalde is Héctor Hernán Flores Peñaloza.[1]

Athin the electoral divisions o Chile, Marchigüe is representit in the Chamber o Deputies bi Mr. Ramón Barros (UDI) an Mr. Juan Carlos Latorre (PDC) as pairt o the 35t electoral district, (thegither wi Placilla, Nancagua, Chépica, Santa Cruz, Lolol, Pumanque, Palmilla, Peralillo, Navidad, Litueche, La Estrella, Pichilemu an Paredones). The commune is representit in the Senate bi Alejandro García Huidobro (UDI) an Juan Pablo Letelier Morel (PS) as pairt o the 9t senatorial constituency (O'Higgins Region).
