Khentii Province
Khentii (Mongolie: Хэнтий) is ane o the 21 aimags (provinces) o Mongolie, locatit in the east o the kintra. Its caipital is Öndörkhaan. The aimag is namit efter the Khentii Muntains. It is best kent as the birthplace an likely feenal restin place o Temüjin (itherwise kent as Genghis Khan.)

Geography
eeditThe aimag borders wi Roushie in the north. The neighbourin aimags are Selenge in the northwast, Töv in the wast, Govisümber in the soothwast, Dornogovi in the sooth, Sükhbaatar in the sootheast, an Dornod in the east. The border tae Töv is dividit bi the ceety o Baganuur, an admeenistrative exclave o Ulan Bator.
The northwast o the aimag is covered bi the eastren pairt o the Khentii Muntains, towards the sootheast the landscape chynges intae the eastren Mongolie steppe plains. The muntain Burkhan Khaldun in the Khan Khentii Strictly Protectit Aurie is considered saucrit, an assumit tae be the birthplace o Genghis Khan.
Sooth o Burkhan Khaldun the Kherlen River oreeginates, which crosses the sooth o the aimag in eastren direction efter a detour through Töv. A little further east is the spring o the Onon River. The Balj-Onon Naitional Pairk is locatit in the northeast o the aimag.
