Burdett O'Connor[1] is a province in the northren pairt o Tarija Depairtment in Bolivie. It is namit efter Francisco Burdett O'Connor, a chronicler o the Sooth American War o Unthrildom.

Burdett O'Connor province is ane o sax provinces in the Tarija Depairtment. It is locatit atween 20° 53' an 21° 58' sooth an atween 63° 36' an 64° 26' wast.

The province borders Chuquisaca Depairtment in the north, Eustaquio Méndez Province in the north-wast, Cercado Province in the wast, Aniceto Arce Province in the sooth-wast, an Gran Chaco Province in the sooth an east.

The province extends ower 140 kilometre (87 mi) frae north tae sooth, an 100 kilometre (62 mi) frae east tae wast.

The main idiom o the province is Spainyie, spoken bi 98.4 %, while 10.3 % o the population speak Guaraní, 1.8 speak Quechua, an 0.3 % Aymara.

The population increased frae 17,763 inhabitants (1992 census) tae 19,339 (2001 census), an increase o 8.9 %. - 47.5 % o the population are younger than 15 year auld.

89.5 % o the population hae nae access tae electricity, 84.5 % hae nae sanitary facilities.

51.6 % o the population are employed in agricultur, 14.6 % in minin, 7.0 % in industrie, 26.8 % in general services (2001).

89.9 % o the population are Catholics, 4.0 % are Protestants (1992).
