Aniceto Arce Province

Aniceto Arce (or short: Arce) is a province in the soothren pairts o the Bolivie depairtment o Tarija. The province is namit efter Aniceto Arce Ruiz (1824-1906), Preses o Bolivie frae 1888 till 1892.

Aniceto Arce province is ane o sax provinces in the Tarija Depairtment. It is locatit atween 21° 45' an 22° 53' sooth an atween 64° 06' an 65° 02' wast.

The province borders Cercado Province an José María Avilés Province in the north, the Republic o Argentinae in the wast an sooth-east, Gran Chaco Province in the east, an Burnet O'Connor Province in the north-east.

The province extends ower 140 km frae north tae sooth, an 100 km frae east tae wast.

Main idiom o the province is Spaingie, spoken bi 80.7 %, while 8.6 % o the population speak Quechua, 1.0 speak Aymara, an 0.2 % Guaraní.

The population increased frae 44,713 inhabitants (1992 census) tae 52,570 (2001 census), an increase o 17.6 %. - 42.9 % o the population are younger than 15 year auld.

55.4 % o the population hae nae access tae electricity, 51.4 % hae nae sanitary facilities.

42.1 % o the population are employed in agricultur, 0.1 % in minin, 10.2 % in industrie, 47.6 % in general services (2001).

87.4 % o the population are Catholics, 8.9 % are Protestants (1992).
