In the ither semi-final, Englishman Mark Selby and Hong Konganese Marco Fu set a new record for the langest frame o snooker ever played at the Crucible, at 76 minutes 11 seconds.

Efter beatin Robert Milkins 10–6, Sam Baird 13–11, Kyren Wilson 13–8, an Fu 17–15, Selby defeatit Ding 18–14 in the feenal tae claim his seicont Warld title, havin won the 2014 event previously. Thare wae 86 century braks made bi 24 players in the televised stage o the Warld Championship, equalling the record set the year afore.[16][17] For every century brak made during the 17-day championship i Sheffield, the title sponsor, Betfred, donated £200 tae the Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice. The donation wis roondit up tae £25,000 as the goal o 70 centuries wis achieved.[18] Ding Junhui made 15 centuries, ane short o the record o 16 set bi Stephen Hendry in 2002.[19][20]
