Zhytomyr (Ukrainian: Жито́мир pronounced [ʒɪˈtɔmɪr], Roushie: Жито́мир, Pols: Żytomierz, Yiddish: זשיטאָמיר‎) is a ceety in the North o the wastren hauf o Ukraine. It is the admeenistrative centre o the Zhytomyr Oblast (province), as well as the admeenistrative centre o the surroondin Zhytomyr Raion (destrict), awtho it is no a pairt o it. Zhytomyr is locatit at aroond 50°16′N 28°40′E / 50.267°N 28.667°E / 50.267; 28.667, occupyin a aurie o 65 km2 (25 sq mi).

Zhytomyr Oblast is the main centre of the Pols minority in Ukraine, an in the ceety itsel thare is a lairge Roman-Catholic Pols cemetery, foondit in 1800. It is regardit as the third biggest Pols cemetery ayont borders o Poland, ahint the Lychakivskiy Cemetery in Lviv an Rossa Cemetery in Vilnius.
