Sud Chichas (or: Sur Chichas) is a province in the Bolivie depairtment o Potosí. Its seat is Tupiza.

Sud Chichas province is ane o saxteen provinces in the Potosí Depairtment. It is locatit atween 20° 51' an 21° 50' Sooth an atween 65° 15' an 66° 30' Wast. It borders Nor Chichas Province in the north, Antonio Quijarro Province in the northwast, Nor Lípez Province an Sur Lípez Province in the wast, the Republic o Argentinae an Modesto Omiste Province in the sooth, Tarija Depairtment in the sooth-east, an Chuquisaca Depairtment in the east.

The province extends ower 130 km frae east tae wast an frae north tae sooh.

The main leid o the province is Spaingie, spoken bi 96 %, whilk 59 % o the population speak Quechua. The population droppit frae 52,308 inhabitants (1992 census) tae 47,873 (2001 census), a decrease o 8.5 %.

45 % o the population hae nae access tae electricity, 74 % hae nae sanitary facilities. 34 % o the population are employed in agricultur, 11 % in minin, 6 % in industrie, 49 % in general services. 88 % o the population are Catholics, 8 % Protestants.

The fowk are predominantly indigenous ceetizens o Quechua strynd.[1]
