The destrict wis establisht on 4 Januar 1926.[8] On 2 Februar 1963, it wis transformit intae Spassky Landwart Destrict, but revertit tae the oreeginal status on 12 Januar 1965.[8]

The toun o Spassk-Dalny serves as the admeenistrative centre o the destrict,[2] awtho it is no admeenistratively a pairt o it an is incorporatit separately as a toun unner krai jurisdiction.[1] Municipally, Spassk-Dalny is separate frae the destrict an is incorporatit as Spassk-Dalny Urban Okrug.[11]
Economy eedit
The Knorringskoye, or Khankayskoye, deposit o marble is locatit in the destrict—ane o are anerlie three such deposits in the warld. Various souvenirs are producit frae this marble.
Spassky Destrict is ane o the leadin agricultural regions o the krai. Due tae the unique microclimate o the Prikhankayskaya Flatland, vegetables, fruits, an berries ripen here earlier than in the ither pairts o the krai.
