North Wast Ingland, one o nine offeecial regions o Ingland, consists o the five counties o Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire an Merseyside. The North Wast had a population o 7,052,000 in 2011. It is the third most populatit region in the Unitit Kinrick after the Sooth East an Greater Lunnon.

North Wast Ingland is bounded tae the east bi the Pennines an tae the wast bi the Erse Sea. The region extends fro the Scottish Borders in the north tae the Wast Midlands region in the sooth. Tae its soothwast is North Wales. Amongst the better kent o the North Wast's pheesiographical features are the Lake District an the Cheshire Plain. The highest point in North Wast Ingland (an the highest peak in Ingland) is Scafell Pike, Cumbria, at a heicht o 3,209 feet (978 m).

Windermere is the lairgest natural lake in Ingland. Broad Crag Tarn on Broad Crag is Ingland's highest lake. Wast Water is Ingland's deepest lake, being 74m deep.

A mix o rural an urban landscape, two lairge conurbations, centred on Liverpuil an Manchester, occupy much o the sooth o the region. The north o the region, comprising Cumbria an northren Lancashire, is lairgely rural, as is the far sooth which encompasses parts o the Cheshire Plain an Peak District.
