Lochmaddy (Scots Gaelic: Loch nam Madadh, "Loch o the Hoonds") is the admeenistrative centre o North Uist in the Waster Isles, Scotland. Na Madaidhean (the wolves/hoonds) are rocks in the bay efter which the loch, an subsequently the veelage, are namit. Lochmaddy is athin the pairish o North Uist.[1]
