Aboot 50% o destrict’s aurie is covered bi forests. Borders wi Tver Oblast in the north, Lotoshinsky Destrict in the northwast, Volokolamsky District in the wast, Istrinsky Destrict in the sooth, Solnechnogorsky Destrict in the sootheast an Dmitrovsky Destrict in the east. Major river flowin through the destrict is Sestra River.
