It is locatit in the wastren portion o the krai on the wastren bank o Khanka Lake an borders wi Pogranichny Destrict in the soothwast, Khorolsky Destrict in the sootheast, an Heilongjiang Province o Cheenae in the wast. The aurie o the destrict is 2,689.0 square kilometer (1,038.2 sq mi).[3] Its admeenistrative centre is the landwart locality (a selo) o Kamen-Rybolov.
