Thair first single, "Kaisen Sengen" wis rankit #10 on the Oricon Indies chairt.[3] In 2005, Girugamesh embarkit on a naition-wide tour, efter which thay released thair first live DVD, featurin fuitage frae the tour, an efter mair tourin, released an EP, Goku -Shohankei Enban-.

In 2007, Girugamesh wis signed tae the European label Gan-Shin. The baund then wis pairt o a 9-baund Japanese rock festival in Los Angeles, Californie cried "J-Rock Revolution". Thay wur pairt o the seicont nicht alangside Merry, D'espairsRay, an Mucc.[6] Aroond the time o J-Rock Revolution, some o the performin baunds released material on the iTunes Music Store, includin Girugamesh. The Japanese leg haed Girugamesh performin throughoot Japan,[8] an later in Januar, the baund toured Europe for the first time, visitin Germany, Fraunce, the Unitit Kinrick, Swaden an Finland.[10] Follaein thair European tour, Girugamesh continued the "Stupid Tour '08 in Japan".[8] In Mairch, Girugamesh returned tae tourin visitin venues aw ower Japan includin Okinawa.[9]

Follaein a performance at Wacken Open Air,[11] a support tour for Girugamesh will occur, entitled "Shining Tour '08".[12] The first performances endured throu Julie, visitin Osaka an Nagoya, wi ane feenal performance in August at the Liquidroom in Tokyo.[12] Concerts in Julie featurt seicont acts, includin Gelugugu, Tr. In Julie 2008, an Inglis version o thair wabsteid wis activatit; shortly efter this, the baund annooncit thay wad release thair debut American album, wi Girugamesh bein sauld exclusively throu Hot Topic stores.

The baund's third full-lenth album, titled Music, wis released on 5 November 2008. Efter a lengthy Japan tour throughoot the first quairter o 2009, the baund made its seicont appearance in the United States, showcased at Sakura-Con in Seattle, Washington. No lang efter the en o "Crazy Tour 2009" thay released the live DVD "Crazy Crazy Crazy" on 3 Juin. Anither release wis annooncit tae be oot on 10 Julie but this time it wis a single namit "Alive" which thay haed been playin for the audiences durin the end o thair "Crazy Tour". Juist a month later on 5 August the single "Border" came oot alang wi "Crying Rain" on 7 October. On 16 December thay released the fowert album wi the name Now an this became the name o thair tour in 2010.

The baund haed a live entitled New Album Release "Premium Oneman Show 2010" on 31 Januar 2010 at Shinkiba Studio Coast, an at the same time, the members tweetit in real time throu musicJAPANplus afore the live began.[13]

Girugamesh released the single "Color" on 6 Julie 2010. On 7 October thay released the single "Inochi no Ki". On 19 September 2010, the baund performit at D'erlanger's "Abstinence's Door #005" wi Head Phones President an Defspiral. The concert wis streamit warldwide live on Ustream.tv.[14]

On 26 Januar 2011, Girugamesh released thair album Go which includes thair recent singles, "Color" an "Inochi no Ki",[15] ane o the sangs, "Destiny", leakit oot a few days afore. Go will be released in Europe on 2 Februar 2012. On 22 Aprile 2011, Girugamesh played a concert at Anime Boston 2011.

The baund became an internet meme efter a 2009 Sakura-Con commercial, wherein several fowk discussin thair luve o Japan-relatit material are interruptit bi a man who shouts "Girugamesh!"[16] This image-an-text macro suin became a meme on the imagebuird 4chan.
