Thar wis an auld discussion on whither this mountain shuid be spelt Mount or Munt. Haen consulted ma Concise Scots Dictionary buke (2nd Edition), the primary spellin is mount. Can I suggest you check the Scottish Corpus an aw, which will give you more confidence than just a dictionary check. Mount has twenty three references, of which are handful support this spelling, munt has only two references, neither of which are relevant. Illandancient (tauk) 12:47, 26 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

In William Laughton Lorimer's much praised Scots Translation of the New Testament Revelations 14 has: "Syne I luikit, an thair afore my een wis the Lamb staundin on Munt Zion ...". Its gay queer times we're living in when the language used in what is perhaps one of the greatest works of Broad Scots prose to emerge from the 20th century is regarded as unsuitable for a Scots encylopedia.
