Fridén wis oreeginally the vocalist for Dark Tranquillity. He performit on thair debut album, Skydancer, but left the baund suin efter.[3] Twa years later he jynt In Flames. Coincidentally Mikael Stanne haed left In Flames (bein anerlie a session player) an switched ftae rhythm guitar tae lead vocals in Dark Tranquillity, sae the twa effectively tradit places. Anders wis the lead vocalist for anither baund kent as Ceremonial Oath an aw wi In Flames foonder Jesper Strömblad.

1995-present: In Flames

Fridén stairtit wi In Flames on the 1995 album The Jester Race. On the album Whoracle, Niklas Sundin (o Dark Tranquillity) wrote the leerics follaein the oreeginal synopsis bi Fridén. On the 1999 album Colony, Fridén componed the leerics hissel, tho Sundin still assistit bi translatin his leerics frae Swadish tae Inglis. His leerics hae evolvit frae abstract themes sic as astrology an fantasy, tae mair personal endeavours sic as depression an inner struggles.

He is the vocalist for the baund Passenger as a side project an aw, but haes statit recently that he nou haes vera little time for the project, an it is on hauld.

Fridén haes done guest vocals on the album The Phantom Novels an aw, bi the metal baund Grievance. He is the lead vocalist on the tracks Atrocity Upon Deceptions, A Devil's Rhyme an The Mask of Sin.

In 2007 Fridén appeared as a guest vocalist on the Japanese bonus track "See the Falling Sky" on Caliban's 2007 album "The Awakening". As well as providin vocals for the track "Dysfunctional Hours" for the 20t anniversary Nuclear Blast Allstars compilation album, Out of the Dark.

In addition tae bein a vocalist, Fridén is a producer an aw, wi his maist recent efforts bein the albums: The Undying Darkness bi Caliban in 2006 an Absolute Design bi the baund Engel in 2007.

He co-wrote an performit scream vocals on the sang "Self Versus Self" an aw, which appears on the third album o UK/Australie drum an bass baund Pendulum alangside his baundmates Björn Gelotte an Peter Iwers.

Fridén is a fan o alcohol an collects whisky an aw. In an interview wi Metal Hammer, he spoke aboot hou ower the years he haes acquired a taste for fine whiskey, an hou "it's stupid tae get drunk on fine whiskey, there's ither stuff for that."

He is a supporter o the Swadish fitbaa club IFK Göteborg.
