Yan Nawa or Yannawa (Thai: ยานนาวา; IPA: [jāːn nāːwāː]) is ane o the 50 destricts (Khet) o Bangkok, Thailand. The destrict is boondit bi (clockwise frae wast tae northeast) Rat Burana (athort Chao Phraya River), Bang Kho Laem, Sathon an Khlong Toei Destricts o Bangkok while its remainin neebour frae east tae sooth is Phra Pradaeng Destrict o Samut Prakan Province.

History
eeditYan Nawa, in the past, wis cried Ban Thawai (Tavoy veelage, Thai บ้านทวาย) or Ban Kok Khwai (watter buffalo pen veelage, Thai บ้านคอกควาย) due tae a lairge concentration o Tavoy fowk who aften brocht watter buffaloes tae mercat for trade. It became Amphoe Ban Thawai durin Keeng Chulalongkorn period, an wis pairt o the Phra Pradaeng Province. When that province wis abolished in 1932, its northren pairts wur addit tae Phra Nakhon (Bangkok) province. Ban Tavoy wis then renamit tae Amphoe Yan Nawa in greement wi the earlier rename o Wat Ban Thawai tae Wat Yan Nawa. It became a khet in 1972 an the present-day kwaengs wur devisit in 1975. On 9 November 1989 pairts o Yan Nawa wur split aff tae shape twa new destricts, Sathon an Bang Kho Laem. Wat Yan Nawa, the temple frae which the destrict name inherits, is nou locatit in Sathon destrict.
