Watford Football Club (aften referred tae simply as Watford or Watford F.C. a nicknamed The Hornets) is an Inglis professional association fitbaw club based in Watford, Hertfordshire. Ance in the hichtest division o Inglis fitbaw, Watford finished seicont in the league in 1983, reached the FA Cup final in 1984, an competed in the UEFA Cup in the 1983-84 saison. The seicont period spanned frae 1997 tae 2001, when Taylor took the club frae the renamed Seicont Division tae the Premier League in successive seasons. Taylor is currently a non-executive director o the club, an honorary life preses alangside Sir Elton John, who awned the club durin baith o these eras an haes continued a lang association wi the club. Watford compete in the Fitbaa League Championship, following relegation frae the Premier League in 2007.
