Tynwald

Tynwald, (English: Tinwald) is a veelage in the historical coonty o Dumfriesshire in Dumfries an Gallowa, Scotland. It lies a bit north o Locharbriggs, ootby o Dumfries. The veelage is near the umwhile RAF Tinwald Downs that is noo the Dumfries Aviation Museum.

On 13 Julie 1619 Robert Maxwell wis served heir tae his faither, John Maxwell o "terris de Tynwald" in "Baroniam de Tynwald".

In the 15t century the Tynwald Mote wis the "caput" o legal heid o the barony, whaur sasine (possession) wis gien bi the ceremony o haundin the grantee, afore witnesses, a haundfu o yird an stane fae the jead messuage called teh Mote near the church of Tynwald.
