Tuzantla is a municipality in the eastren pairt o the Mexican state o Michoacán. The municipality haes a aurie o 1,018.49 square kilometres (1.73% o the surface o the state)[1] an is bordered tae the north bi the municipalities o Jungapeo an Hidalgo, tae the east bi Juárez an Susupuato, tae the sooth bi Tiquicheo an the state o México, an tae the wast bi Tiquicheo an Tzitzio. The municipality haed a population o 15,302 inhabitants accordin tae the 2005 census [2] Its municipal seat is the ceety o the same name.

In Pre-Columbie times the aurie wis inhabitit bi Aztecs. Its name Tuzantla is a wird o Nahuatl oreegin that means "Place whaur gophers are abundant".
