Tel Mond (Hebrew: תֵּל מוֹנְד‬) is a toun in the Israeli Sharon region, locatit east o Netanya an north o Kfar Sava.

Tel Mond wis foondit in 1929 bi Sir Alfred Moritz Mond, later kent as Laird Melchett, a umwhile Breetish meenister an preses o the Breetish Zionist Federation. The Israel Plantations Company heidit bi Mond purchased land in the region an plantit citrus orchards tae provide employment for Jewish laborers.[1] In 1933, a group o fermers purchased land frae the company an established Moshav Tel Mond. In 1936, anither group established Moshav Kfar Ziv. In 1943, new immigrants frae Yemen established Shechunat Ya'akov. In the 1950s, Neve Oved an Hadar Hayim wur biggit tae accommodate the lairge wave o immigration efter the foondin o the state. In 1954, aw these communities wur merged tae form the Local Cooncil o Tel Mond.[1] The surroondin moshavim, Kfar Hess, Herut an Ein Vered, wur an aa foondit bi the pioneers o Tel Mond.[2]

Ower the past decade, the community haes grown frae a sma toun tae a sel-sufficient mini-ceety that provides services for ither regional communities.

Landmarks eedit

The hame o Laird Melchett haes been turned intae Hoose o the Laird museum, documentin the history o Tel Mond.[2] Ootside the museum is a statue o Laird Melchett designed bi Batya Lishansky.[2]
