Saul Perlmutter (born September 22, 1959) is an American astropheesicist at the Lawrence Berkeley Naitional Laboratory an a professor o pheesics at the Varsity o Californie, Berkeley. He is a member o the American Academy o Airts & Sciences, an wis electit a Fellae o the American Association for the Advancement o Science in 2003. He is an aa member o the Naitional Academy o Sciences. Perlmutter shared baith the 2006 Shaw Prize in Astronomy an the 2011 Nobel Prize in Pheesics wi Brian P. Schmidt an Adam Riess for providin evidence that the expansion o the universe is acceleratin.
