He is an aa member o the Naitional Academy o Sciences. Perlmutter shared baith the 2006 Shaw Prize in Astronomy an the 2011 Nobel Prize in Pheesics wi Brian P. Schmidt an Adam Riess for providin evidence that the expansion o the universe is acceleratin.
