It is pairticularly weel kent for its reid an green foliage an is widely uised in Christmas floral displays. It derives its common Inglis name frae Joel Roberts Poinsett,[3] the first Unitit States Meenister tae Mexico,[4] who introduced the plant intae the Unitit States in 1825.
