Nueva Ciudad Guerrero

Nueva Ciudad Guerrero (New Warrior Ceety) is a ceety in the Mexican state o Tamaulipas. It lees on the banks o the Rio Grande / Río Bravo, near the US–Mexico border, opposite tae Falcon Heights, Texas. The Lake Falcon Dam International Crossing connects Falcon Heights wi Nueva Ciudad Guerrero.

It is locatit in Guerrero Municipality, Tamaulipas. The ceety's population at the 2010 census wis 4,312 indwallers, comprisin 96.3% o its municipality population o 4,477 indwallers.

Ciudad Guerrero wis foondit in 1750, as Villa del Señor San Ignacio de Loyola de Revilla but later wis namit efter the seicont Preses o Mexico Vicente Guerrero. The ceety servit for a short time as the caipital o the Republic o the Rio Grande in 1840.

The ceety name o Ceety o New Guerrero follaes the Auld Guerrero Ceety (Antigua Guerrero) that wis locatit on a tributary o the Rio Grande, the Rio Salado, some ten kilometers frae the oreeginal banks o the Rio Grande. Auld Guerrero wis floodit efter the construction o Falcon Dam, and muivit sooth tae its current location on the current shoreline o Falcon Lake.
