It is locatit in the wast o the oblast an borders wi Smolensk Oblast in the wast, Kaluga Oblast in the sooth, Shakhovskoy Destrict in the north, Volokolamsky Destrict in the northeast, Ruzsky Destrict in the east, an wi Naro-Fominsky Destrict in the sootheast. The aurie o the destrict is 2,627.28 square kilometer (1,014.40 sq mi).[4] Its admeenistrative centre is the toun o Mozhaysk.[1] Population: 72,745 (2010 Census);[5] 70,303 (2002 Census);[8] 42,593 (1989 Census).[9] The population o Mozhaysk accoonts for 43.1% o the destrict's tot population.[5]
