The competition holds aw the fitbaw teams in the Jamaican Premier League, along wi 10 selected teams fae the Jamaican Football Federation's Tier 2. [1]

eeditThe Lynk Cup, first introduced in 2022, is organized by the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) in collaboration wae Lynk Jamaica. It replaces the JFF Champions Cup last held in 2014. The tournament is sponsored by Lynk, a prominent mobile payment company, supporting sports and community development in Jamaica.[2] This competition serves as a platform fur emergin talent tae shine while allowing the established Premier League teams tae fine-tune thir skills in a compettitv environment.[3]

Format
eeditThe Lynk Cup follows a knockoot format, where teams are eliminatit fae the competition upon losing thir match. The matches are typically played ower 2 legs wae the winner oan aggregate, advancing tae the next roond. In the final, a single leg is played and the champion is crooned. The knockout stage consists o multiple roonds includin, the Roond of 24, Roond of 16, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and the Finals.
Finals
eeditThe final is held at Sabina Park, this match hus the potential tae draw thoosands o fans as the stadium hawds 20,000. The final is usually held as a double header wi the match fur 3rd place being played befare the final. The victorious team is awarded the prestigious Lynk Cup along wi a sum o money;

eeditWhen foonded, the Lynk Cup ended the 9-year hiatus o an all-island knock oot competition in Jamaican football, which wis previously served by the JFF Champions Cup, last held in 2014.
Portmore United defeated Cavalier 2–0 in the inaugural Lynk Cup National final tae claim the first ever title and thir only silverware o the 2022-23 season.[4]

Several Cavalier players wur robbed o thir belongins while the game wis in progress. Phones, money an other valuables wur discovered tae huv been stolen when the Cavalier team returned tae the chyngin room at hauf time.[5]
