Born in the Rhondda, Wales, she haes representit the Sooth Wales Central region as a Member o the Naitional Assembly for Wales syne 2003. She wis electit leader o Plaid Cymru on 15 Mairch 2012. Wood, a socialist, republican an a proponent for Welsh unthirldom, is the first female leader o Plaid Cymru an the first pairty leader no tae be fluent in the Welsh leid.
