Kokhav Ya'ir

Kokhav Ya'ir-Tzur Yigal (Hebrew: כּוֹכַב יָאִיר-צוּר יִגְאָל‬, an aw Kochav Yair-Tzur Yigal) is a toun (local cooncil) in the Central Destrict o Israel. Kokhav Ya'ir an the neighbourin toun o Tzur Yigal (Hebrew: צוּר יִגְאָל‬) merged in November 2003. Thegither, the population in 2008 wis 11,050.

Etymology

Kokhav Ya'ir (literally "Ya'ir's starn") wis named for Abraham Stern, who went bi the alias Ya'ir, the foonder an leader o the Lehi group, a militant Jewish underground active durin the Breetish Mandate o Palestine. Stern is an aa German for "starn." Tzur Yigal (literally "Yigal's rock") wis named for Israeli Knesset member Yigal Cohen.
