Kiryat Ono
Kiryat Ono (Hebrew: קִרְיַת אוֹנוֹ) is a ceety in the Tel Aviv Destrict o Israel. It is locatit 11 kilometres (6.8 mi) east o Tel Aviv, on what is believed tae be the site o the biblical Ono Valley (Nehemiah 6:2). At the end o 2007, it haed a population o 27,400.[1]

History
eeditKfar Ono, later Kiryat Ono, wis established in 1939. In the 1950s, a ma'abara (transit camp for new immigrants) wis established nearbi. In 1954, the dounset merged wi ither communities tae form Kiryat Ono. It achieved ceety status in 1992.[2] It began tae grow durin the Breetish era, probably due tae its proximity tae the nou kent as Tel Hashomer Breetish Base. The ceety haes adoptit a lone tree as its spiritual an cultural icon which refers tae a lone tree staundin on a hill owerleukin the Breeitish base. The lands surroondin the tree war awned as agricultural land an maintained bi Aryeh Konikov. When the lone tree wis plantit, it seemed unique in its location, an Mr. Konikov nourished it an maintained the land surroondin it for mony years.
