Juxtlahuaca destrict wis creatit bi decree on 14 October 1868. It wis briefly mergit intae the Silacayoapan destrict in Januar 1872, then restored in Dizember 1872. In Dizember 1906 the destrict wis mergit intae the Tlaxiaco destrict, but on 23 Januar 1932 the destrict wis feenally restored.[2]

The climate is temperate, wi average temperatur o 21 °C. Rainfaw is variable, mainly atween Juin an September, an rangin frae 600mm tae 2,200mm. The land is forestit wi trees that include pine, fir, aik, alder, fig, avocado, mahogany an cedar. Fauna include squirrel, opossum, rabbit, muntain lion, coyote, tod, gray houlet, houlet bells, wild cat, rat, civet, tree frog an rattlesnake.[2]
