eeditJJ Bell wis born in 4 Bothwell Terrace in Hillhead, Glesga. He wis the auldest son o James Taylor Bell, that wrocht as a tabaccae makker.[1]
Bell wis schuilt at Kelvinside Academy in Glesga and the Morrison's Academy in Crieff. He gaed til the University o Glesga, whaur he studied the chemistrie. Whan he becam a jurnalist, Bell wrocht at the Glesga Evenin Times, and forbye sub-editor o the Scots Pictorial. He scrieved anent the life o the common fowk in Glesga, aft times in the Scots. His chairacter o 'Macgreegor' in his Evenin Times airticles, and the stories he scrieved wis that weel kent thay becam buiks, an a film forby.
He is burrit in the kirkyaird o St Machar's Cathedral in Auld Aiberdeen. The heidstane is naur the nor'east neuk o the kirk.[2]
