Jeongeup
Jeongeup (Jeongeup-si) is a ceety in the province o Jeollabuk-do, Republic o Korea. The ceety limits include Naejang-san Naitional Pairk, a popular destination pairticularly in hairst due tae its foliage. Jeongeup is on the Honam Expressway an Honam Line, wi the Seohaean Expressway an aw athin easy reak, providin links tae Seoul an Mokpo.

eeditThe main hills in Jeongeup is Naejang-san Naitional Pairk an Ibamsan, though there are an aa several smawer hills in the ceety. It is the east o the ceety which is mair muntainous, the wast being a plain aroond the Dongjin River. There are several streams in Jeongeup, maist notably the Jeongeupcheon, a tributary o the Dongjin. This is unnergaun a makower bi the ceety cooncil, scheduled for completion in December 2009.

eeditJeongeup, like mony ceeties in Korea, haed a hyanggyo, or Confucian schuil, whaur fowk wis trained in Confucian ways. This biggin is a tourist attraction thir days, but is lockit.
Jeongeup is kent for a traditional sang frae the Baekje Kinrick era, kent as Jeongeup-ga. The sang tells the tale o the lamentin hert o a wumman waitin for her peddler husband’s return.[3]

Festivals
eeditA maple festival aroond Naejang-san is held annually. The maple leafs here is widely regarded as some o the maist beautifu in the kintra. The festival wis abolished in 2002 but wis revived in 2007.[4] This festival includes several events regardin the chrysanthemum lue.
Additionally, a century back, Jeongeup wis the steid o a revolution bi the releegious muivement o Cheondoism. A fair feck o peasants jyned the muivement against the Japanese invaders. For this, Jeongeup hauds an annual commemmorative ceremony.[5]
