The Parliament Act 1911 established the supremacy o the electit Breetish Hoose o Commons ower the unelected Hoose o Lords. In 1924 he appyntit the first Labour meenistry an in 1931 the Statute o Westminster recognised the dominions o the Empire as separate, independent kinricks within the Commonweel o Naitions. He wis plagued bi illness throughout much o his later reign an at his daith wis succeedit bi his eldest son, Edward VIII.
