In the 1830s Drapetsona wis constitutit o fowk who muivit frae Greek islands an built smaw destricts near Saunt Dionysios kirk in the aurie cried Vourla. In 1834 a pairt o the region wis gien tae Piraeus in order tae become a cemetery under the term of churches’ reconstruction. The modren ceety o Drapetsona wis recognisit as an autonomous municipality in 1951.
