Dramlja
Dramlja (pronounced [ˈdɾaːmlja]; in aulder soorces an aw Dramlje,[2] German: Dramle[2]) is a dounset in the Municipality o Brežice in eastren Slovenie. It lees in the valley o Dramlja Creek, a tributar o the Sotla River, close tae the mairch wi Croatie. The aurie wis tradeetionally pairt o Lawer Styrie. It is nou includit wi the rest o the municipality in the Lawer Sava Statistical Region.[3] The dounset includes the hamlet o Sveti Duh (German: Heiligengeist).[2]

Name
eeditDramlja wis attestit in written soorces in 1309 an 1322 as Draemel (an as Dremel in 1404). Dramlja Creek appeared in written soorces in 1344 as Dremel an Dråmel (an as Dro̊mel in 1441 an pach Traml in the 16t hunderyear). The name is o uncertain oreegin; it mey be based on the personal name *Drama (indicatin some kynd o awnership) or mey be o pre-Slavic substratum oreegin. See an aw Dramlje.[4]
Kirks
eeditThare are twa kirks in the dounset. The kirk dedicatit tae Saunt Andra, kent locally as Saunt Andra on the Rocks (Slovene: Sveti Andrej na skalah), is biggit on a hill north o the main pairt o the dounset in the hamlet o Doli. It wis first mentioned in documents datin tae 1545. It wis rebuilt in the 17t hunderyear an expandit in the 19t hunderyear, when the belfry wis addit. The seicont kirk staunds on a hill amid vinyairds faur up the valley tae the northwast. It is dedicatit tae the Holy Spirit an is a single-nae kirk biggit in the 17t hunderyear wi 18t- an 19t-hunderyear addeetions. Baith belang tae the Pairish o Bizeljsko.[5]
