Acause the muisickers in the baund livit thoosans o miles apairt, Lucassen composed the group's debut album, Embrace the Storm, ower the Internet. It wis released on 24 October 2005 through InsideOut Music. A live album, Live in the Real World, wis released the follaein year.

Wi the exception o vocalist Marcela Bovio, who haed appeared on Ayreon's album The Human Equation, Lucassen selectit little-kent muisickers tae form this baund. He feenally left the baund in 2007, tae mak them continue their awn career as he haed planned syne the creation.

In August 2008, it wis annooncit that Stream of Passion haed signed tae Napalm Records, wi Lucassen nae langer a pairt o the baund. Through Napalm they released their seicont studio album The Flame Within in 2009. The baund released their third studio album, Darker Days, in Juin 2011.
