Hypercorrect Scots?

eedit

I guess the title of this page is hypercorrect. Innocent of etymology, AG probably assumed that all long os of English become ae in Scots, while in fact this is 'anely' the case with o coming from Anglo-Saxon ā and ulitmately Proto-Germanic *ai. So shouldn't the title be just 'piano'? Steinbach (tauk) 12:59, 1 November 2020 (UTC)Reply

1 hit fur "pianae" in the Corpus, in a Scots owersetten ae a Chekov play, faur the owersetter deet in 2015. The page title wis oreeginally "piano" an wis muived in 2017.
