The municipality haes a territorial extension o 1,004.4 km² (387.8 sq mi). It borders the follaein municipalities, aw o which are in the state o Nuevo León: tae the north, Juárez an Pesquería; tae the sooth, Allende, Montemorelos an General Terán; tae the east, General Terán an Los Ramones; tae the wast, Juárez an Santiago.
