Ayn al-Sharqiyah
Ayn al-Sharqiyah (Arabic: عين الشرقية, spelt Ain esh-Sharqiye an aw) is a toun in northwastren Sirie, admeenistratively pairt o the Jableh Destrict in the Latakia Govrenorate, locatit sootheast o Latakia. Nearbi localities include Siyano tae the northwast, Zama tae the north, Ayn al-Kurum tae the northeast, Beit Yashout tae the east, Nahr al-Bared tae the sootheast, Daliyah tae the sooth, Dweir Baabda, Baniyas an Arab al-Mulk tae the soothwast. Accordin tae the Sirie Central Bureau o Statistics, Ayn al-Sharqiyah haed a population o 2,359 in the 2004 census. It is the admeenistrative centre o a nahiyah ("sub-district") containin 22 localities which haed a collective population o 16,800 in 2004.[1]
