Aktobe (Kazakh: [Ақтөбе облысы, Aqtöbe oblısı, اقتوبە وبلىسى] error: {{lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) is a province o Kazakhstan. The Aktobe provincial caipital is the ceety o Aktobe, wi a population o mair nor 340,000. The province itsel haes a population 678,900. The aurie o the province is 300,600 square kilometers, makkin it the seicont lairgest province o Kazakhstan, efter Karagandy Province. The Ilek River, a tributary o the Ural River, flows through the province. The name "Aktobe" comes frae Kazakh "Ақ" (white) an "төбе" (hill); supposedly, Aktobe's initial settlers wur able tae see white muntains far tae the north.

Kazakhs — 614961 persons (79 %), unlike in ither auries o the kintra they form an owerwhelmin majority o the population o the aurie. There are a lot o Roushies, Tatars, Ukrainians, Germans, Koreans, Moldavians, Jews, Armenies, Chechens an ithers in the aurie as well.
