As an invitational event, it carried no world rankin pynts. Winners of baith the Warld Seniors Championship and Weemen's Warld Championship competit at the event for the first time. The event featurt a prize fund of £440,000 wi the winner receivin £150,000.

The winners o the first 16 toornaments on the leet war guaranteed a place in the championship.[4] The winners o the next toornaments on the leet—i the shawn order—wad tak a place i the Champion o Champions, in the event thare wae players who met multiple qualification criteria.
