Zagazig (Arabic: الزقازيق Az Zaqāzīq, colloquial [zaʔaziːʔ] or [zaɡaziːɡ]) is a ceety in Lawer Egyp. Situatit in the eastren pairt o the Nile delta, it is the caipital o the govrenorate o Sharqia.
In 1999, its population wis approximately 279,000. Zagazig University, ane o the lairgest varsities in Egyp, is an aa locatit in the ceety, wi colleges in different fields o science an airts. An aa thare is a branch for Al-Azhar University, the lairgest Islamic varsity in the warld.
