Yoichiro Nambu (南部 陽一郎, Nambu Yōichirō, 18 Januar 1921 – 5 Julie 2015) wis a Japanese-born American pheesicist, a professor at the Varsity o Chicago.[1] Kent for his contreibutions tae the field o theoretical pheesics, he wis awairdit hauf o the Nobel Prize in Pheesics in 2008 for the discovery in 1960 o the mechanism o spontaneous broken symmetry in subatomic pheesics, relatit at first tae the strang interaction's chiral symmetry an later tae the electroweak interaction an Higgs mechanism.[2]
