Xi Jinping
Xi Jinping (pronounced [ɕǐ tɕînpʰǐŋ], born 15 June 1953) is the General Secretary o the Communist Pairty o Cheenae, the Preses o the Fowkrepublic o Cheenae, an the Chairman o the Central Militar Commission. As General Secretary, he is also an ex officio member o the CPC Politburo Staundin Committee, Cheenae's de facto tap decision-makin body.

Son o communist veteran Xi Zhongxun, Xi Jinping rose through the ranks poleetically in Cheenae's coastal provinces. He served as the Govrenor o Fujian atween 1999 an 2002, then as Govrenor an CPC pairty chief o the neighborin Zhejiang atween 2002 an 2007. Followin the dismissal o Chen Liangyu, Xi wis transferred tae Shanghai as the pairty secretary for a brief period in 2007. Xi wis promotit tae the central leadership in October 2007, groomed tae acome Hu Jintao's successor.
Xi is nou the leader o the Fowk's Republic's fifth generation o leadership.[1] He haes cried for a renewed campaign against corruption, continued market economic reforms, an open approach tae govrenance, an a comprehensive naitional renewal unner the neologism "Cheenese Dream".[2]
