Tynron is veelage an ceevil pairish in the historical coonty o Dumfriesshire in Dumfries an Gallowa, Scotland. It lies in a howe o the Shinnel Watter, 2 mile fae Minnyhive.
At Tynron Doun thare can be seen the ditches an rampairts o a Roman Airn-Age hillfort.
The name Tynron is likely fae the Cumbric leid din rhón meanin "lance-fort".[1]
