Nicholas Joseph Williams (born September 23, 1987), better kent bi his stage name Trinidad James (aften stylized as Trinidad Jame$), is a Trinidadian-American rapper.[3] In 2012, he signed a recordin contract wi Def Jam Recordings.[4] Wioot a debut album bein released, he wis dropped frae the label in 2014, although he continues tae release muisic as an independent airtist.[5]

Nicholas Williams wis born on September 23, 1987, in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago.[1] His faimily moved tae Canada an Florida afore settlin in Bronx, New York.[3] As a child, he went tae Catholic school.[3] He has stated he cannot remember any parts o his life afore the age o seven acause o a head injury.[3] In the eighth grade, he moved tae New York City, where he began playin basketbaw.[3] He began rappin in November 2011.[6] He has listed Jay-Z, Cam'ron, T.I., an Young Jeezy as his influences.[7]

In 2012, James released his official debut single, cried "All Gold Everything", which charted in the tap 40 o the US Billboard Hot 100. The song wis taken frae his official debut mixtape, teetled Don't Be S.A.F.E. (Sensitive As Fuck Everyday), which wis released on Julie 31, 2012,[8] an officially re-released wi a muisic video on October 16, 2012. On December 13, 2012, it wis annoonced James had signed a jynt ventur wi Def Jam Records for approximately $2 million.[9] In Januar, Def Jam re-released Don't Be S.A.F.E tae iTunes, which included the remix tae "All Gold Everything" featurin 2 Chainz, T.I., an Young Jeezy.[10]

On August 6, 2013, he annoonced that he wad be releasin his second mixtape, teetled 10 PC Mild, on August 13.[11] Efter months o not releasin any new muisic, James annoonced that he had been dropped frae Def Jam on August 1, 2014. He an aa stated that he wis plannin on releasin his album on the label that will now be released for free, an that the producers an rappers wha contributed tae the project should not expect any compensation acause he has "no money".[12] In April 2016, James released the single "Just a Lil' Thick (She Juicy)" featurin Mystikal an Lil Dicky.[13] On December 31, 2016 New Years James dropped a mixtape "The Wake Up 2" tae streaming services sic as Spotify an tae mixtape websites alike.
