The municipality haes a population o 8,827 (31 Januar 2019)[2] an covers a aurie o 697.67 square kilometre (269.37 sq mi) of which 29.9 km2 (11.5 sq mi) is watter.[1] The population densitie is 13.22 inhabitants per square kilometre (34.2/sq mi). Somero is unilingually Finnish.

HistoryEedit

Somero haes been kent as a tradin place as early as 14t century. The municipality wis offeecially foondit in 1867. The municipality o Somerniemi wis joined intae Somero proper in 1977. Somero muivit frae the province o Häme tae the province o Turku an Pori in 1990. Currently it belangs tae the province o Wastren Finland. Somero became a toun ([kaupunki] error: {{lang}}: text has italic markup (help)) on 1 Januar 1993.
