eeditThe first written record o Pulchra Rada (the auncient name for San Mauro, which in Laitin means "bonnie beach an/or port" - on the Po river-) dates frae 4 Mey 991. On that day Anselmo (at the time the ruler o Montferrat) gave the order tae rebuild the Benedictine monastery that haed been destroyed bi the Saracen invasion.
